Introduction

We will use this article to set the stage

Couple holding handsDelores (Dee) and I (Rickie) are very new to blogging so it will obviously take us a while to get up to speed. We wanted to start this blog in order to provide, and possibly discuss, our experiences while taking care of Dee's mother and sister. Her mother, Novella, lives with us and uses a walker to get around in the house plus a transport chair outside the home. She faces the fairly familiar problems for an 88 year old person: heart problems requiring a pacemaker, blood pressure issues, asthma, etc. Dee's sister, Beth, was born deaf, with epilepsy and a mental handicap. She also uses a walker in the house and a transport chair outside the home. So this means we have quite a few doctor's appointments and physical therapy appointments. So we do the best we can and figure it out on the fly. Part of that means doing a lot of reading to try to learn how to help all of us.
